Freeport celebrated its bicentennial in 2010.  It is a small village located in the Southwestern portion of Harrison County at the junctions/convergences of State Routes 800, 799, and 342  It is easily accessible from U.S. Route 22.  Freeport was established in 1810 and incorporated 1882.  The village has a population of 398 as determined in the 2000 census.
