Itineraries

A tour of Harrison County can be designed as a one day visit or as part of an integrated multi-county event.  U.S. Routes 22 and 250, State Routes 9, 342, 519,and 800, in addition to the routes  (parts of U.S.Route 250, State Routes 151, 646, and 799 and county road 2)  that form the Tappan-Moravian Trail Scenic Byway offer many options to enjoy the sights of the county.  Conveniently located "off the beaten path" an hour from Pittsburgh, and within a two hour range from Cleveland and Columbus, the area offers a wealth of opportunities for recreation, outdoor pursuits, and visiting sites of historical interest.

We can help you design a tour to meet the needs and interests of your guests.  Step on quides are available to enhance the experience.

Quilt Barn Driving Tour

Since 2005, Harrison County has offered a beautiful, scenic, Quilt Barn Driving Tour.  Each barn consists of an eight-foot square painted replica of quilt squares on barns throughout the county. The barns are promoted as a "drive it yourself" tour of Harrison County. They also serve as a constant reminder of our pioneer and agricultural heritage.  There are 20 barns in all.

Safety & Respecting Private Property

All sites are on private property and should be viewed from the public road unless otherwise indicated at the site if it is a business open to the public.   We are indebted to our barn hosts for their generosity.  When viewing and enjoying the Quilt Barns use caution when slowing or stopping near a site.  Stopping along busy roads can be dangerous and illegal.
